The first episode of the APP Webinar Series "African Perspectives on Entrepreneurship and Investment". We are very proud that our first speaker was Dr. Daniel Chiumia, a serial entrepreneur and a livestock scientist specializing in dairy production, animal physiology, and agricultural technology. He shared his practical experiences on how Agritech startup Chiweto was created, their traction with respect to securing funding and their work with incubation hubs in Malawi. He also gave some highlights on their contribution as a startup towards the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are very proud to have Jude Jean Baptiste and Jean Claude Fignole from Paon Bleu Haiti for our second edition in the webinar Series "African Perspectives on Entrepreneurship and Investment". Paon bleu is a digital lending startup within the Haitian banking ecosystem where access to finance services is low and limited to a fraction of the population. Jude Jean-Baptiste CEO and Jean Claude O. Fignole CPO at Paon Bleu are going to discuss how their digital lending platform lowers the hurdles to getting a loan and delivers access to finance to underserved borrowers contributing to prosperity.
We are pleased to have Prof. Dr. Brighton Samatanga, Founder and CEO of The Biotech Institute (Zimbabwe) – a private academic-biotech research and development institution, as a speaker for our new edition in the webinar Series "African Perspectives on Entrepreneurship and Investment." At the Biotech Institute, dedicated scientists provide health services and education but also carry out research. They drive innovation in the fields of genomics and machine learning. Prof Brighton Samatanga is a molecular biophysicist/physical chemist and holds several awards, has many peer-reviewed publications. He will talk about the growth and development of The Biotech Institute with a focus on financing, investment, and trying to achieve self-sustainability both at the firm level and national level.
